I've only had a chance to play this for a couple of hours, but first impressions are that this game is fantastic! The classes are quite balanced (though my favourite class the demoman now lacks detpacks and mirv grenades), medics are greatly improved, and the whole game just feels very polished (though that might just be the shiny cell shading). Well done valve!

E3 has officially started, news sites are slowly filling up with news and hype - Ars has reports coming in regularly, as does Shack News and Wired
Notable news items:

After having played it for a few hours (and indeed, watching my house mate Sarah play it for most of the time) I can safely say that it's a Gamecube port worth buying!

The wiimote 'point and shoot' control method is much quicker and easier than using a d-pad, and the widescreen aspect ratio, extra bonus game extensions and countless other little improvements go a long way to making this a must-have purchase, especially if you haven't played Resident Evil 4 on the GC.

MetaCritic agree!
