With the release of Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 SP1 looming next week, let’s have a quick look at what is instore for Office for Mac users!

SP1 will bring major changes in Outlook for Mac including the ability to sync iPhone and iPad calendars without Exchange being used.

If you are using Exchange with Office for Mac then you can already sync your mail, contacts, calendar, tasks and notes so there is no difference for you. But if you use Sync Services, SP1 will bring Support for any device or software that supports this and allow you to sync your calendar, tasks and notes! The newest version of MobileMe has removed support for syncing of your calendar and tasks which some users may be disappointed about.

Hopefully some other bugs will be fixed with the way Outlook works with Exchange. If we do see some bug fixes, the platform should become more stable!
